Deciding on an anti-snoring device can be quite a challenge depending on your specific needs and budget. That is not the only challenge – fraudulent websites are selling knock-off versions of anti-snoring devices. It’s tough enough to make a decision on an anti-snoring device, let alone find out that you’ve been had. For example, unsuspecting people have been tricked into buying knock-off versions of the aveo Tongue Stabilizing Device (aveoTSD) even though this device has patents in Europe and countries like the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The success of the aveoTSD anti-snoring device has led to knock-offs being produced in China out of sub-quality plastics and sold at bargain basement prices through fraudulent websites.

The aveoTSD anti-snoring device is a small miracle – and might just be the best investment one can make when it comes to treating snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The proprietary aveoTSD Tongue Stabilizing Device (TSD), works simply by keeping your airway clear and unrestricted while you sleep, reducing the chance of snoring and OSA.

The aveoTSD is one of the highest rated, medically approved sleep apnea mouthpieces available. This miracle device has been approved by both the FDA and Health Canada, and in several independent clinical trials has proven to treat mild to moderate OSA as well as problem snoring.  Using this oral device, when fitted properly, can achieve positive results the first night you wear it. In some instances it might take up to a couple of weeks to get accustomed to wearing the aveoTSD.

There are plenty of lookalikes and even some direct “knock-offs” of the AveoTSD.  So, it’s important to know what to look out for when making an actual purchase of this oral appliance or for that matter any sleeping aid, especially when purchasing online from fraudulent websites. You can find anti-snoring devices or sleep apnea mouthpieces everywhere these days, even at large large drugstores/pharmacies such as Walmart and Walgreens. However, make sure that you choose a snoring device that is well researched and/or recommended or prescribed by a medical professional, and that you purchase your sleep aid from an authorized seller.

Finding a suitable device online can be a bit of a challenge, often because a few internet sellers are less than transparent. Fraudulent websites will go as far as mimicking authentic websites and even dupe unsuspecting buyers by offering the ‘cheapest snoring device’. If the price of a device is too good to be true, it probably isn’t ‘true’.  Be aware of the country of origin of your purchase, because health regulations vary and so do the materials used to make the device. Fraudulent websites are also known to not fill the order as expected, and there is no recourse. Internet purchases are convenient, but “buyer beware.”

Sleep deprivation is a problem of gigantic proportions and people are often desperate to find a solution. Making the right decision about which device to use and who to buy it from can have lasting consequences.

There are plenty of sellers of anti-snoring and other sleep related aids, because snoring and sleep apnea are the most common maladies.

Make sure you get the right product, purchased from an authorized seller, who offers fitting support and customer care if there are ever any problems or concerns. Some lookalike products are offered on websites that are difficult to detect if they are legitimate or not. Always visit the contact page to see if the product is supported in your country and where the product might originate from. The website’s URL or domain name can be yet another clue as to whether or not the site selling the anti-snoring device is an official and/or legitimate site or not. Look to see if extra letters have been added to the product name. If so, it could be an imposter.

When considering making a purchase, ask yourself these questions:

  • Should you consider buying one from eBay or Amazon?
  • Should you consider buying one made in China?
  • Should you consider buying one sold from a Chinese owned website?
  • Should you consider buying one from an affiliate reseller?

Here are some other things that are important to understand before you make an online purchase:

  1. There are 2 basic types of anti-snoring mouthpieces: The Tongue Stabilizing Devices (TSD’s) and Mandibular Advancement Devices (MAD’s). The later device attaches to your teeth and can have some impact to your dental health and jaw. It’s best to work through a dental professional if you plan to use a MAD, because of the potential impact on your bite, teeth, jaw alignment, and even TMJ, and TJD (Temporomandibular Joint disorders). The TSD on the other hand, does not interfere with your teeth or jaw and can be worn safely without being fitted professionally. Even so, it is recommended that you consult/inform your medical doctor that you are using a tongue stabilizing device.
  2. The construction and substance that the TSD is made of must be of medical grade materials and be sufficiently durable to withstand prolonged use. The AveoTSD for example is made from the highest grade medical silicone produced by Dow Corning Corp (USA), which is chemically inert and therefore doesn’t leach chemicals into the body when you wear it. The MAD’s are typically not made from silicone. The aveoTSD is not made from plastic or resin types of materials or composites, and doesn’t contain either Bisphenol A or latex, both of which have known to create negative health issues. The knock-off tongue stabilizing devices tend to be made from plastic/resin composites that are claimed to be food grade. The aveoTSD knock-offs are usually made in China from composite plastics, that with prolonged use may leach chemicals into your body and affect your health.
  3. There should be clinical tests that support the claims made. Inspect these claims carefully to be sure that the facts match the hype. The AveoTSD has clear clinical findings of support for its claim as an anti-snoring device that treats mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea. Some imposter websites even look like they have demonstrable clinical trials, but have the links to those studies disabled.
  4. The cost of producing and making available to the public a proven, clinically studied medical device is not inexpensive. Some lookalikes appear to be only half the price of a legitimate AveoTSD. This should be a red flag and warning sign that something might not be as good as it appears to be.

Choosing an anti-snoring device that is appropriate to your needs can be a challenging, frustrating, and even costly. There is cost, comfort, and effectiveness to consider, and finding that best ‘fit’ will make the world of difference to your relationships and health. Effectiveness is critical, but if it’s not comfortable you are likely not going to wear the device.

The AveoTSD for example is an inexpensive, clinically proven anti-snoring device that treats mild to moderate OSA. It is available from a number of sleep, medical and dental clinics, as well as online through a few secure payment servers from authorized dealers.

Make sure you do your research and seek advice from medical professionals when buying an anti-snoring device. And, don’t be duped into buying inferior knock-offs because of price; it’s not worth sacrificing your health and happiness.

For those who have found themselves kept awake by the sound of their partner snoring know what a nuisance it can be. It often starts with an abrupt awakening as a result of the snoring, which leads to feelings of anger, annoyance, and exhaustion. When the body’s health is so dependent on having a good night’s rest, it is no surprise that a lack of sleep cause by a snoring partner can adversely affect the relationship. The purpose of this article is to outline some of the negative psychological effects sleep loss can have on your partner and relationship, and various solutions to help resolve the problem.

The negative effects of snoring on relationships are numerous.

As soon as a snoring problem is identified, you will realize quickly that your partner becomes short, agitated, and loses the ability to be empathetic. Try to understand that this reaction is normal. Inefficiency in the workplace as a result of fatigue, a loss of desire to be intimate, and in some cases, causing couples to sleep in different bedrooms, are all potential effects snoring can come as a result of snoring; so any of the previous reactions are understandably justified.

This is why not only is it important to address the problem immediately, but to be receptive to your partner’s feelings about the issue and to work together solving the issue. This is because the problem is one of mutuality: snoring affects the health of both individuals adversely.

Snoring can lead to the development of obstructive sleep apnea, a condition in which the air passages in the throat seal to cause an apneic event. This condition may seem a mere inconvenience initially, but can develop to become a serious health risk. In addition, when your partner is kept up by snoring they are at risk of fatigue. This can be destructive to their workplace efficiency, general bodily health, and even make them accident-prone. If they are working in a stressful environment, sleep can be a great way to recover after a hard day. That said, if they are kept up by a snoring partner, that relief may not be had, and will likely cause their stress to increase in intensity.

WHAT CAN I DO TO CONTROL MY SNORING CONDITION?

Seeking medical advice should be the first consideration when tackling a snoring condition. The goal is to find exactly the type of snorer you are, and to discuss potential aids to manage the problem.

There are two different types of snorers, nasal snorers and throat snorers. Depending on the medical diagnosis, there are sleep devices tailored to help control both nasal and throat snoring conditions. Unfortunately, many are invasive, uncomfortable, or ineffective. An important note is that all devices take some time to get used to, even the effective ones. However, it typically only takes a few sessions of use for the discomfort to ebb; not to mention the minor initial discomfort is worth the reward of improving your relationship and health.

For a nasal snorer, a chin strap device that forces air down the nasal passages is often the most effective. There are also specially designed nasal plug devices that keep nose open to allow air flow without any collapsing to varying effect.

For a throat snorer, there is are highly effective devices, like AveoTSD, that hold the tongue in place to prevent airway obstruction are the best options. One type doesn’t always work for all, but finding the best anti snoring device that work is vitally important.

There is a notable variance in price among potential device options. Here are a list of some devices, their rated effectiveness, and cost:

For Throat Snorers:

AveoTSD, rated 4.8/5 – The AveoTSD is a clinically tested, safe and cost-effective item that runs at at approximately $130. It acts by holding the tongue in suspension to prevent it a blockage from occurring in the throat. Despite the brief discomfort period that can take up to a week to get over, this product is highly successful in remedying mild to accelerated cases of snoring.

Snore Guard Pro, rated 3/5 – The Snore Guard Pro is a mouthpiece that holds the jaw in a forward position to keep the air passages open and thus prevents the possibility of obstruction. The biggest problem with Snore Guard Pro is that it only has a success rate of about 50%, and can cause significant jaw discomfort.

For Nasal Snorers:

Snoring Solutions Snore Cones, rated 3/5 – Nasal cones are a little more expensive than strips, averaging at $22 for pack of a two. Nasal cones claim to be more effective then strips, but success varies among individual users, and no one company’s product seems to markedly out-perform another’s.

Breathe Right Nasal Strips, rated 4.5/5 – The cost of these nasal trips run at about $12 for a pack of 26 strips, and therefore a smart option to test out. The operation is simple: the strips are an adhesive tape-like product, that, when put on in the instructed way, opens the nasal passages to prevent closure.

All of these devices do have a break-in period, and certainly vary from individual to individual. However, there is a range of success to be noted, so getting medical consultation and choosing the right device is paramount.

Note, devices aren’t the only way to combat snoring. There are device-free ways to reduce or eliminate snoring, but usually results come after much time and effort. As a result, it’s recommended that you engage in the following activities in conjunction with using an anti-snoring device. These activities include:

  • Avoiding exercise within 3 hours before bed.
  • Avoiding alcohol consumption
  • Weight-loss
  • Consuming caffeine before bed, and
  • Over-stimulation of the muscles

As you can see, there are numerous ways to remedy snoring, so it’s senseless to allow a relationship to have problems on behalf of something so curable with a device. Don’t gamble with your relationship; find a solution and get your relationship back on track!

Sleep quality is an important factor in having an enjoyable, restful and safe holiday. How many times do you hear someone say they were exhausted when they got home from their vacation?

Summer travel peak is here – a time to hit the road and enjoy the adventure you’ve planned for months on that new elektroroller unu scooter. It´s probably be the best way for transportation. This also equates to more cars, driving long distances, increased stress, family pressures, shared and unfamiliar accommodation, and poor sleep so make sure you check out the plantwear site to make sure you have the best accessories to travel.

Besides putting a damper on the holiday, these are some factors that can lead to daytime fatigue and the increased risk of an accident. The threat of driver fatigue is compounded for those who suffer from sleep disordered breathing like snoring and sleep apnea. In Canada driver fatigue kills over 400 people, while in the US there are about 56,000 sleep related road accidents that kill over 1,500 people every year (NTSA).

The snoring problem; having to bunk up with someone that snores is not a comfortable experience for all those sharing the room, trailer or tent. The person that snores may be self-conscious about keeping everyone awake, so he/she won’t sleep well, while those having to put up with the snoring noise are also going to have poor sleep as well. Many people who snore don’t go on holiday in the first place, because they don’t want to disturb the sleep of others.

There are many snoring solutions that vary in effectiveness, comfort and cost. If you are considering camping, make sure the device is portable, easy to keep clean (sanitize), and even discrete for those who are self-conscious. Research your options for treating snoring, and make sure you try and get accustom to the anti-snoring device before you venture off on vacation.

Many people that snore have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), a condition where a person repeatedly stops breathing during sleep. These stop breathing episodes (apneic events) are typically followed by gasping as the person subconsciously awakes to take a breath. There are a number of therapies to treat Sleep Apnea sufferers that typically include CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure), oral appliances, and surgery. CPAP is well proven, but is not the easiest device to lug around on your travels. The oral appliances vary; the dental ‘jaw’ advancement devices needing special fitting, while the tongue stabilizing device (TSD) is simple to fit and inexpensive.

Sleep deprivation and fatigue can be minimized on your holiday. You can improve the quality of your sleep on your vacation by being well prepared. Consider the following suggestions; take your favourite pillow, reserve a campsite away from noise and lights, plan to eat meals a few hours before sleep, reduce/eliminate alcohol, and even resort to earplugs. To reduce driver fatigue, be well rested and take a ‘driver break’ every two hours. Even consider a “20 minute power nap can boost your energy… improve your driving skills and alertness” New Zealand’s Accident Compensation Corporation.

Relax, enjoy your vacation and don’t drive when tired – becoming a statistic is not a great way to end a holiday.
